MARCH 11-19, 2022

I have traveled to 45 countries on five continents and Oaxaca is by far my favorite city. Why? Oaxaca is the perfect mix of old Mexico perfectly sprinkled with the modern comforts we enjoy. The scenery, the architecture, the food, and most importantly the people, make Oaxaca a remarkable place to visit.

We will explore every aspect of the city. We work and play hard. We start each morning, not too early, with a run followed by a cityscape yoga session, then we enjoy a casual breakfast before heading out on the day’s adventure.  Later when calm hits the city and the sun starts to soften we gather as a group of friends and head out for drinks and an amazing evening meal. Chances are the night will be capped with dancing, singing, and simply living our best life.

If you want to experience Mexico, the real Mexico, this is your trip. We offer small group excursions, max of 15 travelers. We personally vet each person to make sure the journey agrees with their personality. We are not a canned travel company offering box store experiences.  This trip includes excursions ranging from ancient ruins to learning how to make mezcal, all with plenty of time to independently explore the city.

Day 1

Arrive + Welcome dinner.

Day 2

Downtown exploration + Ethnobotanical Garden

In the early 1990's when the Mexican military moved out of the 16th-century Santo Domingo Monastery complex, artists and intellectuals of Oaxaca proposed to make the space into a botanic garden - or more precisely, an ethnobotanic garden to show the “interaction between plants and people.” Today, this garden tells the area's history through ecological and cultural themes.

Day 3

Monte Albán + mezcal (Palenque) farm tour.

Day 4

Your day! Yoga and guided running available.

Day 5

Day trip to Teotitlán del Valle + Hierve el Agua

The Monte Albán ancient ruins were built for the Zapotec and Mixtec culture, and was constructed in the 8th century BCE. It contains plazas, pyramids, a grand court, underground passageways, and about 170 tombs. First discover history, then cool off with a refreshing margarita while touring a local mezcal farm.
